I have the feeling you used the slice tool to make the roof flat, so in my understanding (and this could clarify my previous point) you used a smooth fill for filling the large holes on the roof and then you used the slice to to obtain the shape you liked (which means a flat surface). that is fine too, I am just wondering if you used flat fill or smooth fill for filling the hole.

Not clear why you used recap to download the mesh, once the mesh is ready you can download it directly from Memento platform If you like you could share your project folder on your A360 account, so I will be able to have a clear idea of the whole thing. I get the shape I want but when I do this the roof looses its texture except for a few small areas.Īlso, in the new Beta version of Memento I tried to use the shape tool and as soon as I click on the model a large portion of the texture disappears.

On the roof you can see some of the original texture and the white/black areas where I closed the holes and sculpted the model. I'm not very familiar with specific terms either. I can't really emphasize what a novice I am at this so a step-by-step breakdown is really what I need.

I'm so stuck on this so if someone could tell me what I should be doing, walk me through how to fix it, or point me to a tutorial I would greatly appreciate it. I have access to Meshlab, Blender, Mudbox, Maya, 3DSMax but am really unfamiliar with these programs. I've messed around with the ZPaint feature of Meshlab but wasn't as pleased with the results and also after exporting an obj from Meshlab the model appears blank in Photoshop (as in there is a bounding box, but nothing inside of it). I guess what I'm asking is how to add/blend these closed hole areas with the original texture. I'm guessing this is because they aren't part of the original texture. However, on the areas where I closed holes, I am unable to paint on them. Ultimately I'm trying to bring the model into Photoshop. I've used Photoshop to clean up the appearance of textures on 3D models before and really liked the results. However, the closed holes show up as a flat black or white texture. There were some pretty significant holes that I was finally able to close and shape in Project Memento. I used Recap 360 to create a model of a cemetery tomb.
